Welcome
Well, heres the new artsy/creative type blog. Yup, I know that there’s about a squillion other blogs out there. I don’t know about you, but I have to search long, and really hard for the stuff I enjoy reading about. I hope that people reading this will find some inspiration in their own life and work. I am currently moving towards freelancing as an illustrator.
Next week I’ll be entering Illustration Friday’s topic of the week – it seems like a good opportunity to work towards a simple broad brief, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be writing about Illustration, Design, Drawing, and anything visual which inspires me.
I’ll probably do a series at some point on who I consider to be some of the greatest illustrators of all time. These will definately include;
- Maurice Sendak
- Arthur Rackham
- Kay Nielsen
- Frank Baum
There will be several others, but I want to get a balance of Old and Modern Illustration if I can. I can definately say that there will be a definate bias towards storybook illustration, rather than commercial or editorial forms.
